Jabin Weaver Named Head Baseball Coach

After a national search, Hudson Valley Community College Director of Athletics Justin Hoyt named Jabin Weaver as the college's new head baseball coach. The Fort Plain, N.Y. native, Weaver comes to Hudson Valley Community College from West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown, West Virginia. 

Weaver served as a Graduate Student Assistant and the Director of Player Development with the West Virginia baseball program. He was part of a Mountaineer team that was given an at large bid to the NCAA regional tournament for the first time in 21 years. WVU went to Winston Salem, NC as the No. 2 seed and lost to host Wake Forest in the regional final.

Prior to WVU, Weaver was an assistant at Division II Fairmont State University in Fairmont, West Virginia. Fairmont State having just 9 wins the season prior, enjoyed at 21-win season the year with Weaver knocking off Division I Georgia State at home. Following the Fairmont State season, Weaver was the Pitching Coach for the Saratoga Stampede in the Thruway Collegiate Baseball League.

Weaver started his coaching career during the summer of 2015 as head coach of the Morris J. Edwards Post 168 17U Legion team and took over the program in 2016 as head coach of the 19U Legion Team. With a combined record of 39-13, Weaver saw his teams make a District finals appearance in 2015, and a District final four appearance in 2016.

After a standout high school career at Dolgeville Central and Fort Plain High School, Weaver signed to play at Division II East Stroudsburg University (ESU). During his freshman season at ESU, Weaver was second on the team with a 3.96 ERA and finished with a 2-1 record and fanned 20 batters. In 25 innings pitched, opposing batters hit just .217 with Weaver on the hill. At Fort Plain, Weaver was a part of two teams to make the Sectional finals, winning the finals in 2011 in Joe Bruno Stadium. He also played two seasons with the Adirondack Trail Blazers of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.

Jabin received his Bachelor's degree in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University and has a Master's of Science in Sport Science and Athletic Coaching Education from West Virginia University. He is engaged to Victoria Stella of Fort Plain, NY.
