Hudson Valley's men's basketball team (20-6) had their six-game win streak snapped as they were defeated 84-64 by No. 3 Mohawk Valley on Saturday afternoon in the McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.
Caleb Canty (Hudson/Hudson) led the Vikings with 17 points and added three assists and two steals. O'nandi Brooks (Brooklyn/George Westinghouse) shot 7-for-12 from the floor and finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals in 39 minutes of game action.
Hudson Valley trailed 39-31 at the half and stormed back on the Hawks to tie the game up at 41-41 early in the second half. Mohawk Valley pulled away late with timely steals and clutch baskets to secure the win.
Hudson Valley celebrates senior night this Monday, February 18 as they close out the 2018-19 home schedule with a rematch against North Country. The senior celebration is scheduled to take place prior to the start of the game with tip-off scheduled for 5 p.m.
