The Hudson Valley Community College women’s volleyball program released its 2017 schedule which is highlighted with seven home matches beginning this Monday, Aug. 28 when they host Bergen Community College in McDonough Sports Complex at 6:00 p.m.
The Vikings are hosting its annual pod tournament on Saturday, Sept. 16. The 2017 pod is made up of six institutions, SUNY Adirondack, North Country Community College, Erie Community College, Niagara Community College, Jamestown Community College and the host Vikings. The Vikings will play the first game of the day at 9:00 a.m. against Jamestown CC and will finish up the pod play with a matches against Erie CC (1 p.m.) and Niagara CC (3 p.m.). The Vikings will play in a total of five pod tournaments during the 2017 season.
The Vikings will enter the SUNY Adirondack Pod tournament on Sept. 9 for three matches against Genesee Community College, Monroe Community College and Finger Lakes Community College before heading back home for single matches against Mohawk Valley Community College on Sept. 13 and North Country on Sept. 15.
Following a stretch where the Vikings are on the road for a total of 12 consecutive matches (including pods), the volleyball team returns home for its final home match of the season when they welcome Ulster County Community College on Oct. 16 with a 7:00 p.m. scheduled start.
The Vikings conclude its 2017 regular season with a road match at Orange County Community College on Oct. 19.
All women's volleyball home games will be webcasted live through the new Hudson Valley Community College athletics website with the goal to expand and enhance the online fan experience via the Vikings Broadcast Network.
